The second edition of a performance art festival in three major cities in France. Who is Anticodes? The festival is spearheaded by three creation venues of very different size and operation. They pool their desires and resources to support the artists they love. Each venue is free to make its own decisions and mixes together artists jointly or single-handedly selected. Anticodes is designed for artists.
Anticodes tries to build an original dynamic to enable the movement of distinctive artists and provide them with a supportive environment for work and production. The primary focus is to ensure that the jointly chosen artists will perform in three different cities serving as a jumping-off point and thus enable them to engage with diverse territories and audiences.
Anticodes is designed for audiences.
Anticodes believes that it is possible to bring contemporary art to the general public. We do not guarantee consumer satisfaction but instead the clash of aesthetics. We encourage the audience to leave behind the preconceptions of cultural consensus.
Anticodes aims for collective artistic action.
Anticodes is against nothing, it is about trying to run counter to habits and open up creation spaces in a different way. Anticodes intends to be proactive, sassy, unclassifiable and multi-disciplinary!
