Thanks to a peculiar music score, Denis Mariotte invents a new space. This musician and composer has explored many times before the relationship between space and sounds, including with choreographer Maguy Marin. As part of an acoustic and sensorial space, he examines the relations between proximity and remoteness, blurring and clarity, and attempts to unearth music, to unmask it, to reveal it - not to expose it but to imagine a composition through rhythmical organisation.

Back ground

Denis Mariotte has been composing music scores since the 90s for Maguy Marin�s productions. Through his work as a composer/musician, he created innovating music for various shows: Chef Menteur, Dans le d�cor, La Douzaine, Le miroir et le marteau. In parallel, he worked as a musician in musical improvisations shows with Gilles Laval, Michel Mandel, and Fred Frith. He directed a solo theatre and music show, Suite (2006), based on the question: where does music go the moment it stops being played? For several years, in partnership with Renaud Golo, he has been working on the relationship between writing texts and music. Their production entitled Quelqu�un, visiblement was produced and presented at Les Subsistances in January 2007.
